The5%ers Koussay, a 41-year-old trader from Morocco who has made significant strides in his trading journey. As one of the firm’s $125K funded traders, Koussay has been paid four times and successfully withdrawn $8,344 in profits while steadily scaling his account.
Koussay’s trading journey began three years ago and, like many, started with volatility and challenges. However, the past six months have marked a turning point, with him finally achieving consistency—a milestone he credits to discipline, focus, and developing a solid edge in the markets.
His unique trading plan is built around the concept of Initial Ranges (IR), inspired by Market Profile theory. Koussay tracks IRs across multiple timeframes—M15 for intraday, H1 for intraweek, and H4 for broader monthly moves. Combined with his Expected Range (ER) metric, this multi-timeframe strategy forms the backbone of his approach.
Profit-taking, a common hurdle for many traders, was a major challenge for Koussay. By applying the ER to determine likely expansions, he refined his exits. Risk management also played a vital role in his progress. A key rule—taking a one-hour cool-off after a 1% loss—helped him avoid emotional trading and impulsive decisions.
Though he didn’t employ any special tactics to pass The5%ers’ evaluation, Koussay admits he adopted a more aggressive version of his plan during the process. He believes consistency came after two and a half years of dedication and learning to embrace a probabilistic mindset.
Looking ahead, Koussay’s next goal is to reach a 10% profit milestone to scale his High-Stakes account to $150K. His advice to new traders is simple yet crucial: develop a proper and structured approach to the market.
