In a story that speaks to resilience, learning, Pakistani trader Waqar has secured a $150,000 High-Stakes funded trading account with The5%ers.
Waqar began his trading journey in 2021, initially diving into the volatile world of cryptocurrency. Like many new traders, he faced a harsh introduction—losing approximately $40,000 during Bitcoin’s dramatic drop following its all-time high in late 2021. Instead of giving up, he turned to education, learning from mentors, YouTube content, and fellow traders, including one friend already funded by The5%ers.
By 2024, Waqar got his first taste of success by passing a prop firm evaluation. He then turned to The5%ersand purchased a $100K High-Stakes account in July. Although he failed his first attempt, Waqar quickly regrouped, passed on his second try, and scaled his account to $150K.
Specializing as a scalper, Waqar focuses on trading US30 during the U.S. morning session, with most of his trades lasting just 15–20 minutes. He relies heavily on ICT (Inner Circle Trader) concepts, time-based liquidity zones, and market structure, avoiding indicators and prioritizing precision over volume.
During his interview on The5%ers’ YouTube channel, Waqar shared:
“Trading requires a calm and peaceful mind. I failed two more accounts when I was under personal stress, but I came back stronger. With a valid edge and patience, the results do come.”
Waqar’s equity curve shows small, consistent losses followed by significant winning streaks—a testament to his discipline and confidence in his strategy. His trading setups often involve weekly gaps, Asia/London session ranges, and key liquidity levels like the overnight high/low, Midnight Open, and RTH High/Low.
Waqar describes his first payout from The5%ers as “magical,” reinforcing his belief that trading can be a legitimate career path.
