Mohammad Nimreeh, a trader with FundedNext, recently shared insights into his trading journey, highlighting the importance of risk management and the role of the prop firm in his success. With over five years of experience in the trading world, Nimreeh’s path to profitability hasn’t been easy, but it’s been a rewarding one.
A self-described med school dropout, Nimreeh transitioned into trading after his business endeavors led him to explore financial markets. Starting his trading journey in 2019, it wasn’t until the COVID-19 lockdowns that he was able to devote more time to trading. By the end of 2020, he had made the shift to full-time trading, and it was during this time that he began to see consistent profitability.
Nimreeh’s strategy focuses on XAU/USD (Gold), and he has stayed dedicated to this pair throughout his career. He credits his success to mastering this single asset, emphasizing the importance of knowing an asset’s behavior and volatility intimately. “I’ve been looking at these charts every day for five years now,” he said. “XAU/USD is my bread and butter.”
When it comes to trading, Nimreeh is a firm believer in adapting his position size based on the price action and volatility of each trade. He also mentioned the importance of timing, noting that each trading session (Tokyo, London, and New York) offers unique opportunities. Although he doesn’t trade the Tokyo session anymore, he still trades both the London and New York sessions, learning valuable lessons from each.
Nimreeh’s advice to aspiring traders? “Never trade inside a range. Stick to your strategy, manage your risk, and stay disciplined.”
