Trader Cas recently shared his inspiring journey from studying mechanical engineering to becoming a full-time trader with FundedNext. With eight years of trading experience under his belt, Cas has built a systematic approach that blends discipline, strategy, and a passion for numbers.
Cas initially pursued engineering because of his strengths in mathematics and physics. However, he quickly realized that the traditional path wasn’t for him. “When I got back home from classes, I just wasn’t motivated to put in the time. Meanwhile, trading came naturally,” Cas explained. “Every single spare minute I had went into trading. Sometimes it even harmed my social life because I was always working on trading.”
From a young age, Cas displayed a competitive and entrepreneurial spirit. “I’ve always wanted to win. I wanted to be the best in class and the fastest on the soccer field. I even started small entrepreneurial projects when I was eight years old, like collecting and returning beers for neighbors for a bit of money,” he recalled. These qualities, Cas says, translated perfectly into his trading mindset.
After several years of studying the markets and experimenting with strategies, Cas went full-time after four years. He emphasized the importance of aligning a trading style with personality. “I’m a numbers guy. I like objectivity. Discretionary trading didn’t fit me, so I switched strategies and eventually became profitable,” he said.
Today, Cas trades multiple markets and strategies, including trend-following approaches on indices like the NASDAQ. He stresses the importance of diversification and strategy fit, acknowledging that no single approach works in all market conditions. “One of my strategies profits only during trends. In ranges, I accept losses. Having multiple strategies helps me adapt,” Cas explained.
Cas has recently joined FundedNext, a prop firm known for its fast payouts and professional support. “I’ve had bad experiences with other prop firms—delayed payouts, unclear rules—but FundedNext delivers on its brand promise. Payouts within 24 hours and clear, professional operations made the choice easy,” he said.
