Conrad Janse Van Rensburg shares his inspiring journey of transitioning from business ownership to full-time trading, using FundedNext to elevate his trading career.
In his early days, Conrad was heavily involved in Bitcoin mining, managing a large facility with 20 servers. However, when Bitcoin’s value dropped, coupled with South Africa’s power issues, he sought alternative ways to capitalize on cryptocurrency. His exploration led him to trade, where his first trade resulted in a significant profit of 3.61 BTC. But, as many traders experienced, his initial success quickly turned to losses due to over-leveraging and lack of experience.
Determined to improve, Conrad enrolled in a financial trading diploma at the London Academy of Trading. It was there he learned the importance of matching a trading strategy with one’s personality. Initially attracted to one-hour charts and trend-following strategies, Conrad soon realized that he needed a faster-paced approach, which led him to Al Brooks’ price action methods and a focus on 5-minute charts.
With a growing interest in day trading, Conrad partnered with FundedNext, a platform that offers traders access to capital and a supportive environment for developing strategies. Conrad focuses on trading indices like the DAX and Dow Jones, capitalizing on short-term movements and applying risk management strategies. His playbook includes about 25 different setups, all geared toward high-probability trades.
For Conrad, trading with FundedNext has been a game changer. The platform’s transparency, reliability, and fast payouts have contributed significantly to his trading success. He appreciates the support system and flexibility that allows him to balance both trading and business ownership. Conrad advises fellow traders to embrace setbacks, learn from them, and always evolve.
