The5%ers has released a new trader interview featuring funded trader Diyar, who shared his journey from arriving in the UK as a refugee to managing funded trading capital across multiple prop firms.
In the interview with host Will Davis, Diyar spoke openly about the challenges he faced after moving from Kurdistan, Iraq, to the United Kingdom in 2016. He explained that he arrived with no financial stability and was initially unable to work, leaving him uncertain about his future.
Diyar said his trading journey began in 2019 after being introduced to cryptocurrency markets through a friend. His first trade on Ethereum generated a profit of around £100, which motivated him to explore trading further. However, he admitted that the following years involved repeated losses and frustration as he searched for profitable strategies.
According to Diyar, he experimented with several popular trading methods, including ICT concepts, support and resistance, moving averages, and smart money strategies. Over time, he concluded that constantly searching for a perfect system was preventing him from progressing.
“I wanted the holy grail to be right all the time, but there isn’t one,” Diyar said during the interview. “Trading is a business. You win and you lose.”
Unlike many discretionary traders, Diyar explained that he now follows a fully mechanical approach focused on recurring market behavior rather than prediction or traditional analysis. He primarily trades DAX and NASDAQ, looking for repeated price movements around specific time-based setups.
The trader also discussed the psychological side of trading, stating that accepting losses became one of the most important lessons in his development.
“You’re going to have to become a master of losing rather than mastering winning trades,” he said.
During the discussion, Diyar revealed that he has been funded with The5%ers for roughly two months and has already secured multiple payouts. He also mentioned managing seven-figure capital through prop trading accounts.
